Uptown Takeover 2026 Brings Professional Skateboarding Back to Atlantic City

The Skate AC Uptown Takeover returned bigger than ever, transforming Uptown Skatepark in Atlantic City, New Jersey into one of the East Coast’s premier skateboarding events. Presented with support from the North to Shore Festival, the event brought together hundreds of skateboarders, families, artists, musicians, and community members for a day celebrating skateboarding, youth culture, and positive community impact.

World-Class Skateboarding in Atlantic City

Professional skateboarder Ronnie Kessner once again led an incredible lineup featuring some of the biggest names in skateboarding, including Brandon Westgate, Blake Carpenter, Ish Cepeda, Brian Reid, Brian O’Dwyer, Joey Marrone, Steve Carty, John Shanahan, and Marcello Campanello, delivering world-class demos and an unforgettable Best Trick Contest.

The event was made possible through the support of incredible partners including New Balance Numeric, Thrasher Magazine, April Skateboards, Spitfire Wheels, Thunder Trucks, Olympia, YETI, Pepper Grip Tape Co., Inlet Community Development Corporation, Fireplace Films, and many others who continue investing in the future of skateboarding and our communities.

More Than a Skateboarding Event

Uptown Takeover showcased Skate AC’s mission of creating safe spaces where young people can thrive. Families enjoyed live music by Pool Scum, local art installations, food vendors, giveaways, and opportunities to meet some of the world’s top professional skateboarders in a welcoming community environment.

As President of Skate AC, Rohan Marley, son of the legendary Bob Marley, continues helping expand the organization’s vision of building community skateparks throughout the United States and beyond. Skate AC is proving that skateboarding is more than a sport. It is a powerful tool for youth development, mental health, community revitalization, and creating positive third spaces where everyone belongs.

Following the success of Uptown Takeover, Skate AC is now preparing for the Grand Reopening of Sovereign Avenue Skate Park (Back Sov) in Atlantic City while continuing work to develop additional community skateparks throughout New Jersey and across the country.
